My name is Shelby Olvera, and I’m 33 years old, a wife, and a proud mother of three. My journey hasn’t been a straight line or a picture-perfect path—it’s been a climb out of poverty, a walk through the shadows of my parents had addiction problems, and a constant leaning on faith to make it through. I come from a family where struggle was normal. Addiction ran deep, and resources were scarce. There were days when I felt invisible, unheard, and like my story would never matter. But through faith, I found something more powerful than fear—hope. And with hope, I began to believe that the life I wanted was possible. I also married outside my culture—my husband is Hispanic, and that opened up a new world of love, learning, and growth. Together, we’ve built a home filled with laughter, warmth, and fierce determination to give our kids a future defined by love, not limitations.
This blog isn’t just about me. It’s for you. It’s for anyone who’s ever felt stuck in the life they didn’t choose. When we are children, we don't understand why our parents are not like other parents. Children don't ask to be brought into this world. It’s for the ones who believe deep down that something better is out there—even if they don’t know how to reach it yet.
Through Faith and Hope, I’ll be sharing pieces of my story, lessons I’ve learned, and messages from my heart. If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this: you can overcome anything. Your past doesn’t define who you are —your strength does.
Thank you for being here. I hope you’ll find something in these words that lifts you, heals you, and reminds you that you’re never alone in this walk.

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” — Jeremiah 29:11
